Milk is just a liquid that is taken from a particular protein source
now it is because hippies.

Hippies also put "conversate" in the dictionary; soesnt mean I have to acknowledge it as real.

Before soy milk the definition was simply "a nutrient-rich secretion from a mammary gland"

Let's see what the dictionary says:

https://www.lexico.com/definition/milk

1 An opaque white fluid rich in fat and protein, secreted by female mammals for the nourishment of their young.
’a healthy mother will produce enough milk for her baby’
1.1. The milk from cows (or goats or sheep) as consumed by humans.
‘a glass of milk’
1.2 The white juice of certain plants.
‘coconut milk’
1.3 A creamy-textured liquid with a particular ingredient or use.
‘cleansing milk’

It seems the word milk is used for plant milk as well.

Also, I drink a lot of different types of plant milk.

My personal ranking of (pure, there are also combinations and flavourings) plant milk types:
- rice milk
- oat milk
- almond milk (the taste is a bit too strong for me)
- coconut milk
- tiger nut milk
- hazelnut milk
- peanut milk
- soy milk (meh)

(I don't drink cashew milk and it was long time ago when I last drink ganja milk (jk, hemp milk) or other types, so I won't comment on them.)
