Today AnimeleagueCosplay reveals Cosplay52; a project to showcase 52 of the UK and Ireland's best cosplayers to the rest of the world.

Our team have spent weeks picking out some of the top cosplayers across the community - from regular guests, to normal community members, from the experienced and to the up and coming. Satisified we are now ready to begin our showcase to show what our country has the best to offer.

From this April 6th, every single weekday at 11am until June, we shall be profiling a cosplayer. Make sure to stop by this fb page each morning for your daily dose of cosplay throughout the months of April, May and June!

    RyunStark Cosplay

My Name is Ryan Cooper, I've been cosplaying under the name Ryun Stark now for just over 2 years. In this time i've won a fair amount of contests and represented the cosplay community on ITVs 'This Morning' where we talked about Cosplay, what it is and how to get involved. I've been mostly known for my Daderic Armour cosplay that i constructed entirely out of paper and resin using a process called Pepakura. My cosplay inspiration mainly comes from the games that i've played.

    Rathalely Cosplay

My name is Lesley, I'm a 21 year old cosplayer also known as Rathalely Cosplay! I started cosplaying in Summer 2013 at my first comic convention! I mainly cosplay video game characters. I was featured on ITV's "This Morning" as Samus Aran from Metroid, explaining what cosplay was, and how you could get involved in the community! I have worked with a range of materials, like EVA foam, worbla & friendly plastic, and have recently learnt to sew. I am still learning a variety of skills for new cosplays!

    ~Bringing Friends & Communities Together~

The London community has on average a meetup happening once a week. However, how many of these meets are known about? And how often do these crowds mix and get to know one another outside of their usual groups? Wouldn't it be good if there was a common place to share your meets and read about what's coming up?

The purpose of the Geek Meet Project is to do all of the above. We want to get everyone in London together and help everyone to make new friends!

Go check it out on fb now HERE.

    Q. How do I submit my meet?
    A. Just post the link to your fb event in the FB GROUP HERE. We ask that you do invite your friends to this group out of common courtesy to help raise awareness.

    Q. Wah, my meet clashes with another!
    A. Yes, this happens a bit in London. We're happy to help put you in touch with the other meet organiser to see what can be done. Meets usually end up moved or merged. If neither is possible and two run the same weekend, it's not the end of the world; this is a big and ever-growing community after all!

    Q. Do I need to say I'm affiliated with the Geek Meet Project or Animeleague?
    A. Nope. But a mention is nice. You can post your meet in here and remain 100% independent.

    Q. Are there any ways we can cross promote or work with you more?
    A. Yes! If you want your meetup to become an official affiliated meet then we will advertise you on the Animeleague Cosplay page and on our monthly meetup roundup on the frontpage of the Animeleague website. The AL Cosplay page has over 4,000 likes and the AL website gets 20,000+ hits a week, so you'll be guaranteed attention. smile emoticon

    Q. What's the Big Geek Meet?
    A. It's our official meetup, which we host on a semi-monthly basis (usually every 6 weeks or thereabouts). Run by Animeleague (*waves*) we encourage everyone to come along and use the BGM as a real-life hub to make new friends and meet people from other communities/meets you wouldn't get to know otherwise.

    Q. Is there Geek Meet Project for Cardiff/Bristol/Glasgow/etc?
    A. London shall be our trial. Let's see how it goes here first, and if it's a success we'll roll it out across the UK!
